| H1N1 Continues to Spread |
The World Health Organization has raised the worldwide pandemic alert level to Phase 6 in response to the continuing spread of the H1N1 virus (commonly called Swine Flu). The Phase 6 designation indicates that a global pandemic is underway. More than 70 countries are now reporting cases of human infection. Many cases have been linked to travel or localized outbreaks without spreading to the wider community. The raising of the alert level by the WHO reflects the spread of the virus and not the severity of the illness caused by the virus.( Read more) |
